Dance Gavin Dance - Acceptance Speech Record Label: Rise Records Believe it or not, apart from hearing just a few songs, Dance Gavin Dance is a band I’m not very familiar with at all. However, after the release of a new song a few months back, I knew their upcoming album, Acceptance Speech, would be something I would enjoy; I was right. The album is definitely up there on my list of top releases this year. Fans of the band will be familiar with the harsh screams of Jon Mess, while also treated to the vocals on the band’s new singer Tilian Pearson. You won’t be disappointed by him though, he has a very high toned voice that I think really fits in with the band’s sound. He’s a great addition to the group. One thing I’ve noticed about Dance Gavin Dance is their creative lyrics. I’m not exactly sure what word best describes them, but that’s something that really stands out to me about the group. Another thing I’m very impressed by the instrumentals. The ability to accompany the tone of Tilian’s singing and transition to match Mess’ screams is done extremely well. Giving the album an altogether great sound. If I had to pick a favorite song from the record, I’d have to go with Acceptance Speech, Carve, or Demo Team. Acceptance Speech has made me a new fan of Dance Gavin Dance, and if you were in the same boat as me, it may do the same for you.
